Meet The Founder
Ivy Ang
Ivy Ang is the Founder and Global Managing Director of Ascendi Global, a boutique executive search and leadership advisory firm headquartered in Singapore. With over 25 years of experience across Asia-Pacific, she partners with organisations at pivotal moments—where leadership decisions shape performance, culture, and long-term direction.
She advises boards, CEOs, and senior leadership teams on critical leadership appointments, focusing on identifying leaders who are aligned not only in capability, but also in culture, intent, and long-term organisational fit. Known for her disciplined approach and strong judgment, she leads engagements with precision, discretion, and a focus on long-term outcomes.
Ivy began her career in Tokyo with Hudson (formerly Morgan & Banks), where she managed mandates across the Industrial and IT/Telecommunications sectors. She later pioneered the Healthcare & Life Sciences practice in Japan. Following her move to Singapore, she held leadership roles at Heidrick & Struggles and BTI Consultants, where she led the turnaround of the Singapore executive search business. Her experience spans multiple industries, including pharmaceutical, professional services, academe, industrial, consumer, life sciences, and technology.
In addition to executive search, Ivy works closely with leaders through executive coaching—often supporting executives she has placed—as they navigate transitions, role expansion, and increased leadership responsibilities. She is a certified Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Coach and an Associate Certified Coach with the International Coach Federation (ICF). She is also certified in DISC and Hogan Assessments, which she integrates into her work to provide deeper insight into leadership style, potential, and development.
Ivy holds an MBA from Kokushikan University, Tokyo, and a Bachelor’s degree in International Studies (major in Japan Studies) from De La Salle University, Manila. She is a recipient of the Japanese Government (Monbusho) Scholarship and completed advanced Japanese language studies at Waseda University, Tokyo.
With a deeply international background, Ivy works seamlessly across cultures and markets in both the East and West. She is fluent in English, Japanese, Filipino, Mandarin, and Hokkien, with working proficiency in Spanish and Portuguese.
Ivy founded Ascendi Global with the belief that leadership decisions require both clarity and care—helping organisations and leaders navigate change with confidence. She currently resides in Singapore with her family and actively supports initiatives focused on women’s rights and children with special needs.
